Charlotte, NC is the bread-basket of the Carolinas and home to some of the fastest growing cities in the state. From 2011 to 2013, Charlotte’s population grew by 8.6 percent, with a large portion of that growth coming from the area’s healthy employment sector. The city’s top 50 employers are listed below.

Charlotte is a great city for finding a job and running a company. For the second year in a row, the Charlotte Business Journal has ranked Charlotte as one of the top 25 cities in which to start a business. We have a plethora of amenities, a strong local economy, and a growing population of young professionals. This is a great place to start a business and grow your company.

The top 25 employers in Charlotte

LinkedIn has published a list of Charlotte’s top employers. They ranked the best 25 companies to work for if you want to advance your career. Retail, electrical, health care, and banks are among the industries represented.

Companies with at least 50 employees were graded according to the seven criteria below:

  1. Ability to progress
  2. Enhancement of abilities
  3. Stability of the business
  4. External possibility
  5. Affinity between companies
  6. Gender equality
  7. Background in Education

Methodology

LinkedIn ranked firms in the seven areas stated above based on their data. The following are the categories they used to define them:

  1. Based on defined job titles, Ability to Advance records employee promotions within a firm and when they move to a new organization.
  2. Using defined LinkedIn skills, skills growth examines how people throughout the firm are learning abilities while engaged at the company.
  3. The percentage of employees that stay at the firm for at least three years, as well as attrition over the previous year, are tracked by company stability.
  4. External opportunity examines recruiter outreach to the company’s personnel, indicating a desire for workers from these firms.
  5. Company affinity focuses the employee connection volume on LinkedIn, adjusted for company size, to determine how supportive a company’s culture is.
  6. Gender variety refers to a company’s gender balance.
  7. Finally, educational background investigates the range of educational attainment among employees, from no degree to Ph.D., indicating a commitment to hiring a diverse workforce.

Companies must have at least 50 employees in the city by April 30, 2021 to be eligible, and staff losses (including attrition and layoffs) cannot exceed 10%. (based on LinkedIn data and public announcements, respectively).

The city lists separate subsidiaries from their parent firms, although LinkedIn’s yearly Top Companies list includes just parent companies (data on majority-owned subsidiaries is factored into the parent company score). Across the pool of organizations eligible for the list, all data counts are standardized depending on company size.

May 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021 is the methodology’s time span. All of the data is de-identified and/or aggregated.

All staffing and recruiting organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies were prohibited from LinkedIn. LinkedIn, its parent firm Microsoft, and Microsoft subsidiaries were also banned.
