Most of your social media statuses from last winter consisted of hating the cold weather and wishing for warm weather. Now that it’s here, you realize that summer comes with high temperatures. High temperatures go hand in hand with high energy bills. You should always stay cool and save money. These inexpensive ways to stay cool this summer will help you stay warm and save money. Today’s newer homes are built to keep people comfortable and at home during the summer. There is no central air conditioning in my house, so the window units run constantly to keep this huge house cool. This means, you guessed it, that electricity bills are very high in the summer. To stay warm on hot summer days, we needed to find inexpensive ways to reduce our energy costs. When we did some research, we discovered that many of the things we were doing were NOT helping us stay cool and save money. Use of the stove and/or oven will create an inferno in the kitchen and dining room. So my slow cooker and instant pot are to the rescue. There is nothing I love more than the ease of use of the slow cooker and Instant Pot. It keeps the temperature down in my kitchen. I don’t have to spend time in the kitchen. We were so used to using our window units until we saw the bill jump to $700. When did we become such children that we can’t stand the hot weather?
